We Would Love to Hear from You!
The MTSU Bass Street Archaeology Project team recognizes and acknowledges that we, as academics and scientists, have knowledge and skills we were fortunate enough to be able to study and master, but that knowledge and those skills have limits- especially for a team of white people studying Black and African American history. To really understand people- any people- and help tell their stories, you have to work with the communities and let them guide you and tell you what they need, focus on what they want to know, the stories that are most important to them and what answers they are looking for, and admit they often know- and certainly understand- far more than you do. Only by working together can we uncover and share the history others have tried to bury and ignore. What we do as archaeologists and historians is provide a service, and like any other service industry, we rely on your feedback. So please don’t hesitate to contact us with any thoughts, questions, concerns, suggestions, and/or knowledge you would like to share. Our contact information is included below.
